Is it you?
If you are reading this on Monday, 5/16/16, it is my 52nd birthday and the debut of my blog and social media presence for my new company, Speaking of Willoughby.
Speaking of Willoughby's mission: Empower Leaders to Create Positive, Life-Changing Results, Personally and Professionally.
Let me explain why that might interest you. I am going to grow Speaking of Willoughby by helping leaders grow their revenue.
I am looking for a specific kind of leader. I wonder, is it you? First, just a little background.
For years, I wanted change. Well actually, I talked about wanting change, I kept doing the same thing over and over and found new ways to share my shock with the world that nothing changed.
I complained. I blamed other people. And for way to many days I was so focused on why things couldn't or wouldn't change, I wouldn't have seen change if change had Gibbs slapped me. (First of many NCIS references, thanks LeRoy)
I talked a great game. Talking ain't doing. Then I got an email from a friend. That friend covered a lot of ground, but their six words had so much impact on me, I used them as a title for my blog, "Get out of your own way." It's interesting, this friend is younger and once worked for me. Today, I count him as one of my mentors.
If you are looking for someone who has all the answers, you are terribly lost and I wish you good luck in your search. One of the reasons this adventure took 20+ years to get going is I really thought I had to know all the answers. I don't.
I have learned that people with all the answers usually suck at asking questions. I want to ask the question that sparks the idea for your positive life changing results in your business or personal life. Why not both?
I have 30 years experience in helping people with their business. Some amazing results and extraordinary failures. The failures will probably help us more than the wins.
Back to finding the leader who wants to grow revenue!
I am looking for a leader who is ready to stop being surprised that the same ole same ole will continue to provide the...same ole same ole. I'm looking for a leader who is willing to honestly answer some direct questions.
- Is there growth opportunity for your business?
- Are you ready to “get out of your own way” to maximize growth opportunities?
- Do you have the courage to make the decision and take the needed action to generate more revenue?
- Are you ready to take responsibility for your company’s culture? It starts at the top.
If you aren't interested in any of those, I wish you well.

Will you be Speaking of Willoughby's first huge success story. My success happens after your success. If you are ready, let's do this. I promise you this, the first one will pay a lot less than the 10th one and so on.
