#1 Simplify your story and maximize your message
Jesus taught in parables.
Great communicators tell stories.
Great Advertising tells the story from your customers point of view.
Do you know your story?
How well can you tell it?
Are people listening?
A large percentage of advertising fails because the message is unclear, uninspiring, and unrelated. Most people’s answer is to find a different place to tell their unclear, uninspired, and unrelated story.
Somehow that seems easier than improving.
People love clarity.
Clarity demands focus.
Less makes room for focus.
How do you make people cry?
Significance brings emotions. Emotion is acknowledged with tears.
Tears of laughter, happiness, disappointment, even heartbreak.
Never boredom. Boredom is never significant.
Inspire people with your story. Bring them to tears. Show them the way.
They never grow tired of being inspired.
Think of all the people you have met in your life.
How many get you? Really get you?
There is something about being around the people who
get you? It’s rare. It’s special.
When advertising is self-absorbed, you miss special. You are never
more relatable then when you are helping people
solve a problem or reach a goal.
Can you relate?
#2 Punt the push mentality and Develop the pull attitude
Tony Robbins says push motivation never works. Push motivation never sustains itself.
Pull motivation generates more focus, more drive, more action. Pull motivation focuses you on your “Why” and your why pulls you to raising your standards. Raised standards drive actions.
Same is true with marketing and advertising. Push is constant sell mode. It’s self absorbed yelling from the highest point. It annoys even when it works.
Pull is constant service. It focuses you on helping your customers achieve their goals. It attracts and endears.
Stop pushing and start pulling.
How often are you focused on your business?
The game is changing, are you?
Is there an adjustment that could mean significant growth for you?
Are you using technology to generate revenue and better serve your customers?
Are you building a platform?
Do you have a sales funnel that develops prospects into customers and customers into fans who love to spend money with you?
Are you serving your customers?
Growth doesn’t happen without focus. Change starts with standards and habits. If you aren’t getting what you want, you have to change today’s reality (standards and habits) to maximize tomorrow’s potential.
